Michael Mulquin
President

Michael Mulquin has been working for the last twenty years to identify and implement ways that technology can help neighbourhoods, cities and regions work better. He is supporting the Smart Cities Association as its president helping developing its strategies.

He is leading work within many of the International standards bodies on developing standards and guidance documents for smart cities. He is vice-chair of the IEC Systems Committee on Smart Cities and Principal Architect of the TM Forum’s Smart City Maturity Assessment Process

He is technical author of two British Standards Institution (BSI) publications: PD8101 Smart cities – Guide to the role of the planning and development process, and PD8100 Smart cities overview - Guide.

He brings a comprehensive understanding of the key issues involved in implementing a smart city and of the roles of both technology and of standards in helping the key city stakeholders work together to tackle the specific challenges and obstacles they face.
